Lindsey was a very good friend of mine who I first met through college! We got on straight away and soon realised we had a lot in common. We both had spent a lot of time in hospital during school and could share our experiences. She appeared on the show Barrymore when she was younger and did a duet with Michael himself!

Linz needed oxygen with her at all times and needed a wheelchair to get around, but this didn't stop her from doing anything! What would come across first when you first met her was her personality! She could talk to anyone and beleive me she could talk! haha I know she wont mind me saying that! :-) She would ring me up at home and my ear would literally be burning cus she would not stop talking the whole call! It was impossible sometimes for me to get a word in! haha

I have many happy memories of us at college! She would always get cheese on toast for breakfast and cover it in tomato sauce!I never used to understand why! And she would often get me to go the canteen for her to get her fave kitkat chunky!

She would often be pre occupied in class either with one of her many magazines or doing her lippy!:-) She made us laugh! Linz was the person in the know she would always have every magazine goin so knew all the gossip goin!!

Many weekends we spent having sleepovers at our friend Kath's house. We would go into town always had such a laugh! She had 'SO MANY' friends!!! Everywhere we went she would know someone!!

We stayed in touch after we had left college and I would always ring her up to go on our 'Wednesday Adventures'!! We would just drive somewhere or go the pub!I knew I would always have a good time with Linz!

Linz lived with her Mum and Step Dad and her little sister Grace. She had a very close nit group of friends where she lived and she always made me feel welcome when they were around. I often stayed at her house after nights out and would laugh at the way she would get straight on the phone to people she had just been out with!!That was just Linz! :-)

I hope Linz knew what a special friend she was and is watchin over her many friends and family.

Miss you Linz, hope you are partying in heaven. x x x

Article from the Warrington Guardian newspaper:

Our brave girl loses her fight for life

From the Guardian Series, first published Thursday 25th Sep 2003.

BRAVE Lindsey Morley - who frequently captured Warrington's heart as she battled against a rare growth condition - has lost her fight for life.

Close family including mum Julie and step dad Mark Banks were with the 20-year-old, who suffered from Klippel Feil syndrome, when she died in the intensive care unit last Friday night at Warrington Hospital.

Lindsey, of Eustace Street, was admitted to hospital more than a fortnight ago but was transferred to intensive care when her condition worsened.

She suffered a heart attack and died from respiratory failure just after 11pm.

Mark told the Guardian: "She was a fighter until the very end. We were all there holding her hand when she died."

Her appearances on Michael Barrymore's TV shows in the mid 1990s, including a duet with the star that reduced many viewers to tears, endeared her to townsfolk.

Despite her condition, which left her with a twisted spine, she was still able to live a relatively normal life.

This week Mark recalled how he she enjoyed partying on Bridge Street with friends, rounding off her nights at Mr Smith's.

Even though she required oxygen 24 hours a day, Lindsey always had a loyal band of pals willing to help her carry the life-saving canisters around with her.

Back in October 1998, Lindsey underwent a marathon operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital to insert rods into her spine.

This gave her a better quality of life but she faced an ongoing struggle because of her condition, another symptom of which was restricted lung disease.

Formerly a pupil of Alderman Bolton Primary and Sir Thomas Boteler High, she later went on tostudy at Priestley College.

Our Linz

I remember the day you were born. I was only nine but knew something special and different happened. Mum (Aunty Milly) cried and I went to Nan's with Dad (Uncle Phil), where our Shel and Jan were there. We went to see you in hospital and you had lots of red hair.

I remember that you loved Grandad's tea and when you were very small didn't talk much when you first got up. That carried on till you were a teenager but you soon made up for gabbing as the day went on.

I remember your christening. It was a lovely summer's day and we were all in the yard at Broadbent Ave. All the cousins together.

I remember babysitting you when you were 4 and your Mam and Dad were out.

I remember you being my best bridesmaid and helping me on my wedding day. I choose the colour of the dresses to compliment your hair and show it off in it's glory.

I remember you being taken from us and it being so wrong.

Throughout all of it Linz, I remember YOU. You had many people in your life and you touched so many. I wasn't your closest but I know you loved me as I loved you.

Miss you cuz. Dawny.x

On wings of flight to realms unknown
the white soft downy dove has flown
Alone he soars, dips then dives,
revelling in the freedom of the azure skies

The watcher below is granted a glimpse,
a fleeting glimpse and marvels at the sight
Envious, oh, would that he might, be bathed
as the dove in radiance bright
His feet are firmly planted,
yet, in dreams, his wish is granted

Dream on watcher, one day you will be free
Together you'll fly, patience, wait quietly
When the time is right, the dazzling sun
will disperse the gloom of deepest night

J. Salloway July 1986 (for Memorial Service)

The days of my lfe were yours
My youth and the years of my life were yours
The love in my life was yours
All yours, forever yours

Be happy in the realms of our Lord above
I wish you joy and peace my love
Does your spirit roam free
In the place where you dwell
A land of white light, flowers and trees
With sparkling rivers and silver seas

Do you think of me?
Do you remember me?

Lost in the shadows of the past
I would the memories that haunt me could be stilled at last

When souls fly free if memories die
Surely love remains, the lasting flame

When my eyes grow dim
Come to meet me if you can
Take my hand and lead me on
Together forever
Blessed eternity
